Making Domestic Travel Arrangements

While we can't help you with your international travel reservations, we are available to help with any arrangements that you might need upon arrival to Ecuador. This includes hotel reservations, transfers to and from the hotel, and domestic flights to Cuenca and the international arrival cities of Guayaquil and Quito. If you still haven't decided which city to fly into, click here for more information about each city and the opportunities and challenges they present.

When you have finished an e-mail request will be sent to a travel representative in Cuenca and someone from the Cuenca office of CEDEI will be in touch with you shortly. If all off your requests are correct and available, you will then be issued a bill that you can pay on-line with our secure server.

We primarily work with three hotels in Guayaquil, the Grand Hotel Guayaquil, Hostal Iguanazu, and Hostal Tangara. The Tangara is a smaller, family-run hotel located outside of the downtown are, relatively near the airport. It offers kitchen privileges, a continental breakfast, and is perhaps better suited to those who plan to spend very little time in Guayaquil.

The Grand Hotel, on the other hand, lends itself very well to self guided tours of the downtown area of Guayaquil as it only a couple of blocks from all the major sites of interest. For those that arrive before midnight, there is a complimentary airport-hotel transfer service, although breakfast is not included.

Hostal Iguanazu is located slightly outside of the downtown area, although only about 15min from the airport. It is a small hostal, with about a dozen rooms, and sits on hill surrounded by vegetation. Out of the three hotels in Guayaquil, it is the best place to relax and get away from the bustle of the city.

The three different hotels we offer in Quito are well suited for different types of travelers. The Junior Plaza is located right in the heart of the new town (Mariscal District) and is often chosen by younger students who want to take advantage of the restaurants, cafes and clubs that are found in the area.

The Quito tends to draw a slightly older crowd, and is very popular with tour groups that come to Ecuador. Nearby are several nice restaurants and the Mariscal District is a short cab ride away.

The Real Audiencia is a slightly different experience, as it is located in the colonial part of Quito. This part of town is a major tourist destination, and is undergoing improvements to increase its appeal for foreign guests who wish to overnight in the area. Of the three, the Quito is the closest to the airport, and the Real Audiencia closest to the bus station.
