Full Immersion Spanish Program
By fully immersing yourself in a new language and culture -- both inside and outside the classroom -- you will gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of Latin America today. FISP is an all-inclusive program that may be arranged for two or more weeks any time of the year.
What is included?
Each week of FISP includes the following:
- 20 hours of one-to-one instruction
- 7-day homestay with an Ecuadorian family (including 3 meals a day and laundry)
- 1 Andean music class
- 1 Latin American dance class
- 1 art class
- Weekend daytrip (eg, Ingapirca, Cajas National Park or Gualaceo), not including entrance fees (where applicable)
- Internet access in CEDEI's Computer Lab
- Exclusive discounts at local restaurants and stores
What are tutorial classes?
Tutorial classes are one-to-one instruction tailored to meet the student's individual needs. Tutorials are generally divided into 10 hours of grammar and 10 hours of conversation per week. If you wish to focus on a different or more specific area, we will be happy to accommodate your request.
When can I begin?
You may begin your classes on any weekday (Monday through Friday); however, you must register at least two weeks in advance (it is preferable that you apply at least one month in advance). We suggest that you plan to arrive in Cuenca on either Saturday or Sunday (your host family can pick you up at the airport in Cuenca).
Can you assist me with travel arrangements within Ecuador?
We are happy to assist you with arrangements for accommodations in Quito or Guayaquil, or a flight to Cuenca.
