The experience of studying abroad involves a number of factors, so that the student's stay is favorable. For this reason, the Department of International Programs of CEDEI contemplates a series of aspects before, during, and after the students' stay in Ecuador.

In the initial stage it is very important that the students know several details related to the country and the city they will visit, and in which they will remain for some time, such as: their customs, traditions, false stereotypes, as well as relevant places and sites of the main cities of Ecuador.

This is the case of the Fall Semester in the Andes group, which will have an orientation tour through the main streets of Cuenca this week with the company of the International Programs staff. The university students will visit places such as banks, pharmacies, markets, supermarkets, and other sites, in order to become familiar with the city, and be able to orientate themselves later.

Also, the students will receive classes related to their studies, for which they will receive credits, learn Spanish, and attend lectures and workshops to learn more about Latin American culture.

It is important to note that this group is made up of 12 students; 11 of them come from several higher education centers in the United States and one student comes from Sweden. They will study at CEDEI from September 4th to December 5th this year.
