Lima, Cusco, and Machu Picchu are some of the places that the students of the Augustana College Summer Program will visit this week in Peru. This trip represents the end of their program that started in early June.
During their visit to Cusco, the college students will visit the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Pucapucara, Tambomachay, and the Aguanacancha Center where they will observe different types of vicuñas, llamas and alpacas. Also, they will visit the Ruins of Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, and Inti Punku.
In Lima they will have a city tour to visit places like the Love Park, the Plaza Mayor, the San Francisco Cathedral and its Catacombs, among others. They will also visit the Parque de la Reserva, where they will enjoy the Magic Water Circuit and a choreographed show of water that takes place every night.
This trip is part of the itinerary organized by the International Programs Department of CEDEI, which includes touristic, academic, and cultural activities. The objective of this program is that students learn about Latin American culture as part of their studies.
After the trip to Peru, the Augustana College students will return to the United States to pursue their college degrees.
